The Anointing in This Season Will Make You Unrecognizable & Slay Your Enemies

Updated: May 8, 2020

David defeated the uncircumcised Philistine, Goliath. When he did so, Saul asked who was he.

Goliath was comfortable day in and day out with his proclamations of tormenting taunts and jeers to the armies of the Lord. When David heard Goliath, he understood Goliath was too comfortable.

That enemy/those enemies that have become comfortable will no longer find comfort in our lives because the anointing that God has ordained in this season will slay them all.

David defeated the uncircumcised Philistine, Goliath. When he did so, Saul asked who was he. I SAMUEL 17:40 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. 51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword 54 David took the Philistine’s head and brought it to Jerusalem; he put the Philistine’s weapons in his own tent. 55 As Saul watched David going out to meet the Philistine, he said to Abner, commander of the army, “Abner, whose son is that young man?” In earlier text, scripture shares with us how Saul requested for David from the house of Jesse. David would play the lyre with such an anointing that it would cause tormenting spirits to depart from him. Saul aides and Saul saw that the Lord’s hand was on his life and that God had set him apart, anointed him. David served Saul well and Saul grew to love him. Also we know that scripture tells us that David went before the king letting him know that he had an assurance that he could defeat Goliath because God was with him. Saul responded with doubt and resistance, exclaiming that David was just a boy. When David killed Goliath, Saul had to inquire about the identity of the mighty warrior that had defeated Goliath. This should make our hearts excited. There is a season for us that because of this new level of anointing that the hand of God will so transform us that some of those that have been familiar with us will not recognize us. STUDY REFERENCES: I Samuel16 NIV 14 Now the Spirit of the Lord had departed from Saul, and an evil[a] spirit from the Lord tormented him. 18 One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.” ERV 20 So Jesse got some things as a gift for Saul. Jesse got a donkey, some bread and a leather bag full of wine, and a young goat. He gave them to David and sent him to Saul. 21 So David went to Saul and stood in front of him. Saul loved David very much. David became the helper who carried Saul’s weapons. 22 Saul sent a message to Jesse. “Let David stay and serve me. I like him very much.” NIV 23 Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him. I Samuel 17 ERV 31 Some men heard David talking. They took David to Saul and told him what David had said. 32 David said to Saul, “People shouldn’t let Goliath discourage them. I am your servant. I will go fight this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go and may the Lord be with you.” 38 Saul put his own clothes on David. He put a bronze helmet on David’s head and armor on his body.39 David put on the sword and tried to walk around. He tried to wear Saul’s uniform, but David was not used to all those heavy things.
