Embrace & Pursue Wisdom

Embrace & Pursue Wisdom Embrace & Pursue Wisdom Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get[a]wisdom. Though it cost all you have,[b] get understanding. Proverbs 4: 4-7 Proverbs is the Book of Godly Wisdom. Throughout Proverbs we are admonished to embrace her, pay close attention to her, not to forsake her, understand, love, cherish, and pursue her at all cost – even though it may cost us everything we may have we must do everything within us to understand lady wisdom for she will protect us (Prov. 4:4-7). Lady wisdom adorns us with godly wisdom as she aides us in the navigation of life and life’s decisions.  Created in the likeness and image of God, we are not just born in this earth to casually pass through it in our life time. God created us in his image. This means He not only longs to have a lifetime love affair with us yet he made himself accessible. The Holy of Holies has made himself relatable to us for relationship with us. Glory!  He values us as part of his royal priesthood so much that he has ordained a good and purposeful path for us to experience. Without wisdom, we abandon the full and meaningful purpose God created for us. We are to consider wisdom for the source of wisdom is God. Our identity resides in him and without the counsel of wisdom we can never be our truest selves – the royal priesthood, sons and daughters that confidently walk in our kingdom authority. We are hand-crafted masterpieces of beauty by the highest investor of all times who has made the greatest investment. There will never be any greater investment nor investor. This solidifies the case, even the more, to not follow the dictates of our own ideas yet to accept the freely gift of wise counsel he eagerly gives She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.  Proverbs 4: 9 How to gain wisdom? God never commands or  draws us to do anything he has not empowered us to do. Wisdom is a treasure to pursue. (Prov. 2).  We can simply ask for wisdom in prayer. (James 1:5). The bible is a living and breathing not mere words on paper. We are to meditate on the word of God (his wisdom) day and night (Joshua 1:8). Wisdom is a gift and we seek   to please him (Eccl 2:26). We must have a godly community and partake in godly fellowship. (Prov. 13:20, Hebrews 10:25). As God’s sons and daughters, we observe what he does/has done and are attentive to his mighty works in the earth realm.
